Atikamekw Blend combines tangy sumac, balsam fir and aromatic spices for a savoury BBQ-style rub on game and poultry.

A unique BBQ-style dry rub inspired by the mixed boreal forest of the Atikamekw territory. It combines the woody, tangy notes of staghorn sumac with the resinous aroma of balsam fir needles. The sweetness of maple and the warmth of carefully selected spices create a flavour profile that is wild, refined and deeply boreal. Originally crafted to enhance the delicate flavour of hare and rabbit, it is also exceptional with grouse, roast chicken and pork tenderloin, adding a distinctive forest-inspired touch.

PERFECT WITH

Hare, rabbit, grouse, roast chicken... and even pork tenderloin! Its BBQ profile, inspired by Greek and boreal flavours, also pairs beautifully with wild mushrooms, root vegetables and potatoes. Sprinkle the blend over your food before cooking or generously rub it onto your meat before grilling or roasting to bring out its full flavour.

INSPIRED BY THE ATIKAMEKW TERRITORY

The Atikamekw people of Haute-Mauricie live in harmony with the Nitaskinan, their vast boreal homeland. Hunting, fishing and foraging have shaped their identity and deep connection with nature. Among their most iconic game animals, the snowshoe hare holds a special place as a symbol of abundance and balance. This blend pays tribute to these traditions and the boreal spirit that inspires them.

BOREAL INGREDIENTS

Staghorn sumac: adds a bright, tangy flavour reminiscent of wild berries.
Balsam fir needles: bring distinctive resinous, forest-inspired notes typical of Québec's boreal landscape.
Maple: softens and balances the blend with a warm touch of natural sweetness.

INGREDIENTS

Maple salt (maple sugar, sea salt, red bell peppers, onion, garlic, coriander seeds, natural maple flavour), granulated garlic, smoked paprika, ground coriander, thyme, sage, staghorn sumac, balsam fir needles.
