Taste profile: Inspired by the river culture of the Micmacs, this blend offers sweet and salty flavors with subtly vinegary tastes. On the palate, the fine bitterness of larch shoots enhances the lemony-vinegar aromas of boreal sumac and its pleasantly vegetal taste reminiscent of the seaside.

Micmac: In the 16th century, it was the Mi'gmaq "people of the sea", who welcomed the first Europeans to the shores of Gaspésie. Salmon fishing is still part of the social and economic life of the Micmacs.

Hare: Symbolizes rebirth, balance, intuition, fertility and fear.

Sumac: It is a perfect substitute for lemon in all seafood cuisines. It can also spice up your stuffings, rice, bread and vegetables. In addition, this spice can be used with white meats, omelettes or grilled tomatoes for example.

The Micmacs of Quebec are mainly found on the Gaspé Peninsula. The Gespeg community settled in Gaspé Bay, the Gesgapegiag community, on the shore of Chaleur Bay, at the mouth of the Cascapedia River, and the Listuguj community, on the south shore of Gaspésie.

  • Prepared and packaged in Quebec by local artisans
