Ingrédients / Ingredients
- 1 small pumpkin
- Vegetable or canola oil for frying
- Salt
- Ground staghorn sumac*
- Ground American spicebush*
Instructions/ Directions
Preheat the oil to 350°F (in a fryer or deep pot).
Peel the pumpkin, cut it into large wedges, then slice thinly using a mandoline. Pat the slices dry with paper towels to remove as much surface moisture as possible.
Fry the slices in small batches to avoid overcrowding the fryer or pot. Drain excess oil on paper towels.
Sprinkle with a pinch of salt, ground staghorn sumac, and ground American spicebush.*
Note
*If you don't have ground staghorn sumac or American spicebush, replace them with a bit of Traditional Blend, or Tomahawk Blend for a spicier, more flavorful version!
